Whether Gloria is working with acrylics, oils, oil pastels or mixed mediums, two things shine through: her love for nature and her love of color.
Gloria's landscapes and floral paintings are characterized by vivid colors. Spending winters in Southwest Florida has broadened her palette even more, as she captures the brilliant flora and fauna of the Gulf Coast. Florida and it's unique beauty of the tropical landscape, wildlife and botanical's, has become her favorite subjects. She enjoys experimenting with different mediums, additives and textures to push the artistic envelope.
Her love for animals also shines through in pet portraits that she does on a commission basis.
Art has been a lifetime passion for this Berks county, PA native. Some of her earliest memories are of drawing and painting. At Reading Senior High, she was one of a handful of students selected to study with the late James M. Waldron, then curator of the Reading Public Museum and Art Gallery, as well as president of the Berks Art Alliance.
She took her mentor's encouragement to canvas. Raising two boys and working two jobs didn't allow much time to paint. But as her family grew and work schedule lightened, her art blossomed. Now retired, she devotes most of her days to painting.
She is a member of the Berks Art Alliance, Reading, PA.
Since becoming a full-time artists Gloria has enjoyed successful solo show and exhibiting at Art Festivals in Florida and Pennsylvania. Her work hangs in private collections and corporate halls. But she still enjoys experimenting with new techniques and studying with other accomplished artist.
Always looking to take her art further is in her nature.
